June 2010 - Issue 72 - www.clareevans.co.uk

Hello ,

Well Summer is finally here and we've had some gloriously hot and sunny days. Of course the gardeners amongst us are hoping for the occasional shower of rain to keep things watered.

I completed another two days of our South Downs Way walk - they were hot and sunny with fantastic views across the Sussex countryside. Unlike the first day which was cold and drizzly. We're a third of the way there already, although doing it at a leisurely pace.

So how have things been going in the first six months of the year? Have you achieved all you set out to do?

Now is a good time to review your progress and adjust what you're doing for the remainder of the year. What do you need to do to take your business up a level?

It's Birthday month and I'm giving away a copy of the new Time Management For Dummies Audiobook to the 100th person who completes and returns their Time Audit to me before the end of the month.

Not only that but ONE lucky person, from all those returned this month, will win a FREE Time Audit Feedback session. Here's what someone said recently about their session:

"Most impressed. It has really focused my mind on how I waste time and how I could work more efficiently."

Don't miss out - download your Free Time Audit today.

Keep in touch with what I'm up to and get extra news and tips from my blog or Follow me on Twitter.

Enjoy the rest of this month's newsletter.

Clare

P.S. Feel free to pass this newsletter on to friends and colleagues.

Decision Making - Part 2

This month I continue with the theme about decision making and a few more strategies to help with the process.

If you're focused, have clear goals and know what you're doing - some decisions are easier to make than others.

Keep things in perspective when making decisions.  Talk to friends, go away for a weekend or taking a day off. Move out of your normal environment to think about your problem and come to a decision.

How often have you returned from holiday and made important and potentially life-changing decisions?  When you get a chance to switch off from the daily routine, you can often see things more clearly.

Trust your intuition

Your intuition is a powerful and much underrated tool. Learn to use it. Your gut instinct will often tell you if and when you made the right or wrong decision.

If you have all the facts and information in front of you - your subconscious can evaluate the data and come up with a gut reaction based on previous experience.

How has your intuition served you in the past? Do you normally make the right decision when you go with your gut reaction? Listen to it more and use it as a guide.

Heads Or Tails

If you really can't decide and you have two choices, toss a coin! Just stating which option goes with which choice.

Flip the coin. Be aware of your reaction when you see the choice you've made. Your gut instinct will tell you if you've made the right choice. Either stick with it or realise that you actually wanted the other choice.

Even if you make a wrong decision, treat it as an opportunity to learn.

- What have you learnt from the decisions you've made so far?
- What would you have done differently if you knew then what you know now?
- Did it turn out to be the right decision, if not, why not?
- What was missing from the original decision making process?

Apply that next time.  Once you've made a decision, take action.

Sometimes you can get too bogged down in the detail or the whole decision making process.  Take yourself out of the situation - if someone else was making the decision what would they do?

Why not book up a FREE Friday Focus session - clear your blocks, get focused and get into action - www.clareevans.co.uk.

Until next month.
