May 2011 - Issue 83 - www.clareevans.co.uk
Hello ,
Well, did you survive the two long
weekends in a row or did you find yourself in a state of chaos as you tried to
cram a full working week into just three days?
Most people seem to be settling
back into their normal routine this week and there's a couple of weeks to
catch-up before the next UK Bank Holiday at the end of the month.
If you felt things were all a bit
hectic, why not take a few minutes to complete the Time Audit and find ways to
ease the process next time, so you can enjoy the long weekend?
More requests from journalists
flowing in this month - both from home and abroad. As ever, I'll keep you posted when the
publications actually come out.
I also did my first webcast this
month with BrightTalk. A bit of a juggling act, getting used to new
technology but a great platform. Take a listen for a few of my tips - there
will be more to come.
Keep in touch and get extra news, offers, tips and info from my blog, on Twitter or connect with me on Linked In
Enjoy the rest of this month's newsletter.

P.S. Feel free to pass this newsletter on to friends and colleagues.
How To Give Your Business A Turbo Boost
It's not easy trying to find time
to grow your business when you're just managing to get everything done in a day
and working long hours as it is.
When your time is limited or if you
want to avoid working long hours, evenings and weekends, it's important to know
what works for your business.
Make sure you focus on the
key activities that are really going to make a difference.
Many businesses will try anything and everything or simple try to do too much -
wasting time on activity that has little benefit.
Stop wasting your time and energy. Focus on a few things at a time rather than
stretching yourself and your resources too thinly.
Remember - 80% of your results will come from 20% of your effort. Focus on the 20% and you'll have more time
for yourself.
Turbo-charge your business. Create one or two goals you'd like to achieve
in the next month.
- Get x additional clients,
- Charge £££/$$$ billable hours,
- Book x training/work days,
- Increase business by £££/$$$.
Write down your goal. Set a target date for when you're going to
achieve it and how you're going to measure it.
Now decide on the strategies you're going to complete each and every day or every week to enable you to achieve
this goal. The importance is consistency. It's easy to lose track or
get demotivated.
With a goal, plan of action and a burst of focused activity - you'll be surprised at how much you can achieve in
a short space of time.
There are probably a number of strategies you already use but you might not be focusing on them consistently. Pick up to 10 activities that you can
complete on a daily or weekly basis.
Create a checklist to work with over the course of the next few weeks.
This will help you stay on track and plan better, so you feel you're
achieving more each day.
Having clearly laid out steps and actions will keep you focused. Once
you're focused you're more likely to achieve what you're aiming for. You'll be less distracted because you know
exactly what you need to be doing each day to reach your target.
- Update your checklist.
- Plan and complete your actions.
- Review your progress daily.
- Celebrate your success.
At the end of each week review your successes and challenges. Update or modify
your actions if you're not seeing the progress you expect. Have a clear plan of what
you want to achieve, then follow it.
Apply this process to your personal life as well - improve your health and fitness, plan and organise your home
life. Create a goal, set a target date and identify your daily actions.
You'll get everything you need to enable you to take your business forward and achieve one key goal in the Transform Your
Business online coaching programme.
Find out how to plan your week, ways to stay focused and motivated, how to find
the 20% and how to stay on track or you can email me to book up a free Strategy Session and see the
difference it makes.
Until next month.
