Hello ,

Whether you work for yourself or work for someone else there are many benefits to working away from the traditional office space.
  • More productive
  • Better work life balance
  • Save time and money
  • Better health
Working from home has changed over the years. Interconnectivity and cloud technology gives us the ability to work from pretty much anywhere.

All you need is:
  • A laptop, tablet or smartphone.
  • Access to broadband/wifi and/or a mobile network (sometimes a challenge!)
You have greater control over your time. Plan your work around your own time and you’ll feel more relaxed and more productive.

Whether you work from home on a permanent or a part-time basis here are seven great reasons to do it:

1. Greater flexibility. When you’re not tied to the office 9-5, you can plan your day around other priorities and commitments. Do the school run, book a doctor’s appointment, be available for a delivery or shop without the crowds.

2. Choose your hours. If you're an early bird or a night owl start and finish work at times that suits you and your energy levels. Get your productive work done when you're at your peak. Take a break if you feel your energy flagging rather than pushing on through.

3. Better balance. Structure and plan your day:
  • Fit in a morning exercise routine before you start work.
  • Take a break at lunchtime for fresh air and exercise or to walk the dog.
  • Eat more healthily away from the temptations of the snack machine and the office canteen.
  • Meet up with friends for a relaxed lunch.
  • Plan time out for reading, learning or personal development.
  • Work around your family.
4. Choose your workspace. Whether it's your home office, a co-working space or your nearest coffee shop, find a place to work that is stimulating for both creativity and productivity.

5. Save time. Cut out the time, stress and frustration of your daily commute. Although this can often be useful planning or downtime in itself. Use the time you save to exercise, plan and organise your day, so you work efficiently.

6. Fewer interruptions. Get away from office chatter, 'have you got a minute' moments. Colleagues who interrupt and side-track you throughout the day.

7. Less distraction. Away from noisy open-plan offices, ringing phones, email alerts and colleagues conversations. When you need to focus and have a deadline to meet, working from home (or elsewhere) allows you to achieve more. You'll work fewer hours as you're more focused and productive.
