Hello ,
The six hour day was first introduced in Sweden, then adopted by France. Along with the 4 day week, the appeal of more flexible working is spreading as more countries and businesses take up the idea.
Aside from the obvious impact of the last two years, many people in the UK work more than 40 hours a week. There’s still the pressure to keep working long hours and get the work done. Is this really necessary or productive?
Just because you’re working, doesn’t mean you’re working productively. There are numerous studies that have shown people are only productive for 60-80% of their day. Intentionally or un-intentionally.
Reducing the working day to a six hour day, instead of the eight, nine or ten you usually work, doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get less done.
You could already be wasting 1-2 hours a day. Taking into account time wasted on distractions and interruptions; planned and unplanned meetings; spending time on low value tasks; losing focus.
Reduce your working hours to six a day, so it forces you to use your time more effectively. You'll stay focused and less likely to allow or waste time on distractions or getting side-tracked.
